Over the weekend the rumor mill was in full gear talking yet again about the iPhone coming to the Verizon network. This time the rumors are reported by Apple insider citing a Taiwanese manufacturer that is said to avoid a contract to produce a new “worldmode iPhone” that will run on both GSM and Verizon’s CDMA networks.
That is a consistent refrain from people when I talk to them about why they are using (insert phone name here). This is usually followed by a discussion about why they are unhappy with AT&T and my explanation about why a Verizon/T-Mobile iPhone, while technically possible, is very unlikely.

The University of Washington’s iPhone app, m.UW has been available from the Apple store for about 10 days now.
In those 10 days, we have seen it installed (or at least downloaded) on about 3,500 iPhones or iPod touches.
